Privacy policy

Pixxy is a Shopify app that generates product imagery from photographs a merchant already has, and publishes the approved results back to their store. This policy describes exactly what the app stores, what it sends elsewhere, and for how long.
What Pixxy does not collect
Pixxy holds no customer or buyer data. It does not read orders, customers, carts or checkouts, and does not request the access scopes that would allow it to. The app’s only Shopify permissions are write_products and write_files, which cover product media and the Files library.
Because of this, a request under customers/data_request or customers/redact has nothing to return or erase. Pixxy acknowledges and logs both for auditability.
What Pixxy stores
- Your shop record — myshopify domain, current plan, credit balance, saved brand style rules, and the dates of install and uninstall.
- An access token issued by Shopify during installation, used to read product photographs and publish media on your behalf. If a staff member signs in individually, Shopify may also supply their name and email address alongside that session.
- Generation records — the resolved prompt, which look was used, the resulting image’s dimensions and format, and where it is stored.
- Publication records — which image went onto which product or collection, and the previous collection image, so a publish can be reversed exactly.
- A credit ledger — an append-only record of credits granted and spent, kept so billing can be reconciled.
Images
To generate a new image, Pixxy reads the product photograph from Shopify’s CDN and sends it to the image provider as a reference. Your source photographs are not stored by Pixxy — they are read at generation time and discarded.
Generated images are stored in object storage until you publish or delete them. Unpublished images are removed automatically after 30 days.
The AI provider
Image and video generation is performed by Google’s Gemini and Veo models. Every request is sent with retention disabled, so the provider does not keep your product photographs or the generated results for model training or any other purpose.
Generated images carry an invisible SynthID watermark identifying them as AI-generated. Pixxy does not remove it.
Where data is held
Application data is stored in a PostgreSQL database and generated media in S3-compatible object storage, both hosted on Railway’s infrastructure. Traffic between your browser, Shopify and Pixxy is encrypted with TLS.
How long data is kept
- Unpublished generated images — 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- After you uninstall — your shop is marked uninstalled immediately and all stored images are deleted after a 30-day grace period, so a reinstall within that window picks up where you left off.
- On a shop/redact request from Shopify — every stored image and every database record for your shop is erased.
Sharing
Pixxy does not sell data and does not share it with advertisers or analytics brokers. Data is shared only with the infrastructure and model providers named above, strictly to operate the service.
Your choices
Uninstalling Pixxy from your Shopify admin stops all processing and starts the deletion described above. To have your data erased sooner, or to ask what is held, contact support@pixxyapp.com.
